About the TURJ
Manuscripts may be after first day of spring classes for Tulane University, however, please observe the following (subject to change) schedule for submission decisions:
01/10/25 – Open for submissions
04/04/25 – Deadline for submissions
04/11/25 – Revise and resubmit deadline, copyeditors assigned
04/25/25 – Copyediting finished
05/09/25 – Formatting finished
06/06/25 – Proofed and published
Manuscripts may be submitted by current undergraduates who conducted research or scholarly or creative activity either at Tulane or elsewhere. Manuscripts with multiple authors, including at least one undergraduate student, may also be submitted. Primary authors must be undergraduate students. Recent graduates may submit manuscripts for research conducted during their undergraduate careers. Manuscripts should be submitted within the calendar year of a student’s graduation.
Manuscripts are examined for the qualities and caliber that make the research appropriate for publication. The Student Editorial Board will conduct the preliminary review and will assign manuscripts that pass the first cut to reviewers. Whenever possible, a blind review process will guarantee a fair review of the manuscript. Manuscripts will be subjected to revisions for content and grammar, depending on the comments of the faculty and student reviewers and copy editors.
Editorial team applications are accepted on an annual basis. NTC students interested in becoming a student editor may apply before October 1st of that academic year. Please fill out our Editorial Team Application to indicate your interest in joining.
